Fall armyworm in forage

Forage crops are not traditionally regularly checked for insect pests, meaning fall armyworm presence in these crops can be problematic, particularly in periods of high pest pressure where considerable damage is possible.  FAW damage to plants at the early vegetative stage can result in patchy establishment, and later infestations can reduce forage/silage quantity and quality.
