Comments policy

The authors of this blog will attempt to engage in conversation relevant to the articles via the comments section whenever possible. Moderating and posting of comments occurs only during regular operational hours, and the department is unable to commit to replying to every comment posted. Please post comments in English only. Comments on articles are automatically closed after 60 days.

Anonymous comments are not allowed. A valid email address is required for every comment, which will only be used if the Department has a question in response to your comment. This is a moderated blog; all comments will be reviewed before posting. All comments must be relevant and respectful. Comments that contain vulgar or abusive language; personal attacks of any kind; that do not remain on topic, or that appear to promote services or products will not be posted. We encourage on-topic comments on articles only; comments posted to events notifications or image pages will be automatically deleted.

Members of the media are asked to address questions to the DAF Media Unit (07 3239 3010) and to refrain from submitting questions here as comments. Media questions will not be posted. To protect your own privacy and the privacy of others, please do not include phone numbers, addresses or email details in the body of your comment. Also consider other less obvious personally identifiable information such as surnames and descriptions in order to maintain your privacy.
